Audiologist Program Specialist

POSITION:   5226
GROUP / GRADE:   Staff Support
Grade 2
SALARY:   $ minimum per day
JOB DESCRIPTION:   Processes students’ files, which may include record maintenance, scheduling, record keeping, obtaining releases to agencies to locate audiological records, and disseminating student information to other education and medical facilities. Performs office duties which may include answering telephones, directing inquiries, data entry, inventory of screening audiometers, ordering office supplies and forms, and maintaining mileage records as requested. Develops and promotes good community relations among community and school clientele.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:   1. Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree
2. High School or equivalent
3. Prefer experience with Microsoft office products
4. Excellent ability to team with others
5. Type at least 50 wpm
6. Good communication skills
7. Flexibility regarding varied job duties
8. Organizational skills
9. General office equipment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   1. Coordinates audiological servicing and calibration needs for the screening audiometers and clinical audiological equipment.
2. Processes students’ files, which may include record maintenance, scheduling, record keeping, obtaining releases to agencies to locate audiological records and disseminating student information to other educational and medical facilities.
3. Researches and drafts material that may include letters, memorandums, reports, forms and related materials as requested by audiologists, hearing itinerem’s, and educational office professionals (EOPS).
4. Performs office duties which may include answering telephones, directing inquiries, data entry, inventory of screening audiometers, ordering office supplies and forms,
and maintaining mileage records, as requested. Operates office machinery (e.g., computer, copy machine, fax, and laminator) in performing assigned duties.
5. Promotes positive relationships within our school district community under the direction of the audiologists.
6. Stays current with software and hardware applications as needed.
7. Assists hearing itinerants with clerical equipment needs, etc.
8. Assists Child Find secretarial staff with year-round needs.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:   1 to 2 years in related field
WORKING CONDITIONS:   Occasional bending, reaching, climbing
